TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By ordering from Sprinkles bakery you agree to the following terms and conditions:

A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the cost of your order will be required at the time of booking to secure the date.

Bookings are only confirmed once all details have been agreed and a deposit has been received.

The full balance must be settled one week prior to the date of collection/delivery by BACS transfer.

We reserve the right to cancel your order if we have not received payment.

If a deposit payment has not been received within one week from issuing your invoice, we reserve the right to cancel the order.  A deposit payment must be received before your booking is secured.

Wedding orders – a 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking and the balance must be settled 3 weeks prior to the wedding date.

(This excludes promotional offers e.g. Valentines Day, Treat Boxes, etc. These orders must be paid for in total at the time of pre-ordering.)

Any cancellation after full payment has been received and 72 hours prior to the collection date, the balance will not be refunded.

(Please note - we no longer automatically send out receipts with our cake orders but if you would like one, just let us know.)

Any changes to your order or to the date the cake is required are subject to the discretion of Sprinkles.  We may not be able to fulfil your order should the date change but will endeavour to do so.

Local delivery in Chesham will be charged at £5.  Any other delivery requirements will be calculated and applied depending on mileage and time.

(Wedding delivery/set up costs will be individually calculated depending on venue and time needed.)

Once cakes have been collected/delivered, we cannot be held liable for any damage that occurs.

All of our cakes are baked freshly to order and we do not accept returns.  Refunds or credit notes will be given only in the event that you receive a cake of unsatisfactory quality.  Should this be the case, or if for any reason you are unhappy with the condition of your cakes, you must contact us within 24 hours of receipt.  Sprinkles will not accept liability for any complaints made after this time.

Please kindly understand that we are a very small bakery run by one person in a home kitchen, with a family.  This means that we are not always open for customers to collect cakes.  We ask that collection times are agreed beforehand at a mutually agreeable time and adhered to as closely as possible by the customer.  We are very flexible and will always endeavour to meet the customer’s needs whenever possible.

Due to us operating from a domestic kitchen please be advised that in the unlikely event of a contractable illness in the family, we are legally required to cancel all cake orders.  This is beyond our control and we would of course refund the total cost of the cake.

We reserve the right to use photographs of orders we prepare on our social media pages or website.  If you specifically request we do not do this, you must let us know at the time of ordering.

Our cakes are made from the best ingredients and are free from preservatives.  Therefore, we recommend eating them on the day of collection/delivery to enjoy them at their best.  Store them in a cool dry place in their box or airtight container and always consume within 3 days.  Refrigeration may dry out your cakes (only refrigerate if advised) and we do not recommend freezing them.

Cakes with fresh cream, cream cheese, cheesecakes or anything else that requires refrigeration must be refrigerated immediately and consumed within 1-2 days.

We cannot be held responsible for any cakes which are consumed after the recommended time and have not been stored correctly.

When making cakes to look like a photograph provided, we will endeavour to make a cake similar to the image but will not make an exact copy.

(We make handmade, artistic cakes and do often need a bit of creative licence. We will always do what we thinks looks best at the time. Cakes will always be made to the best of our ability with 100% effort.)

Transportation – Please remember that cakes are delicate and need to be handled and transported with care.  When you collect your cake, please support it from underneath the box.  We recommend that you travel with the cake flat in the boot of your car or footwell.  We do not recommend carrying cakes on laps whilst travelling.  We can provide a piece of non-slip mat for your car boot which will ensure your cake does not slide around.  Cakes will also need to be kept cool.  Driving slowly without breaking suddenly is strongly advised to prevent any damage to your cake in transit.

Please inform us if you plan to travel long distance with your cake.  We want it to stay at its absolute best!

Weather – We do our utmost to ensure that cakes are decorated, supported and constructed to the best of our ability to hold up during warm weather. We do advise to keep your cake refrigerated during the summer months and remind you that cakes are delicate, made of butter and can melt if not cared for correctly. We cannot be held responsible for cakes that have been mishandled or for any damage which occurs out with our human control.

Allergy advice - Although every care is taken to ensure that our ‘free from’ cakes do not contain any allergens, we must stress that they are baked in a kitchen that uses eggs, milk, wheat, sesame, nuts, peanuts and soya.  We therefore cannot guarantee that they are completely free from traces of these allergens.
